Whether you plan to hunt your dog or not, it
will be first and foremost-- a family friend. At Welsh Run, we believe if you give a pup a better start, you'll get a better pup.
Seems pretty simple
to us: A family pet does better when it begins life in a family environment

Our five children provide the pups with an active and busy (oh, so busy!) environment.
The
pups spend their days nosing through our 3/4 acre wooded compound and romping the 30 acres of spring-fed meadow nearby, letting
them hone their natural hunting ability as well as terrorize the local songbirds

When they're tired they curl up with the nearest child and then snooze
away their nights snuggled up together in safety and warmth, with their mommy close by.
At Welsh
Run, we believe dogs don't belong in wire cages and cement compounds;
in
fact, we don't own any

We are, by choice, a small kennel dedicated
solely to the Epagneul Breton,
or French Brittany. We started
in 1993 with an American Brittany named Sparky Engine (that's what you get when you let a 5-year-old name your dog). But like many before us, we found that the Epagneul Breton has several
advantages over its American cousin, and in fact over all other breeds of gun dog.
